:: Damon O'Gan, DVM (email)
Dr. O’Gan comes from the Big Horn Mountain country of northern
Wyoming. After earning his veterinary degree at Texas A&M, he practiced
at Hill Country Equine in Boerne, Texas, under the tutelage of Dr. David
Dutton. With a strong interest in equine emergency care and lameness
evaluation, Dr. O’Gan saw a growing need for a quality equine practice
west of Austin, and founded the practice in July 2004.
Dr. O’Gan is a proud member of the American
Association of Equine Practitioners and enjoys teaching and sharing his equine
experience with the community. He has been the “Vet On Call” for MyHorseMatters.com,
and spoken to professional groups, such as the National Cattlemen’s Beef
Association
and the Alamo Dressage Association. Dr. O’Gan also speaks at public schools,
where he encourages young people interested in equine medicine to learn more
about the profession.
As Dr. O'Gan has a special interest in sporthorse medicine, Austin Equine Associates
is also the official veterinary sponsor of LoneStar
Outreach to Place ExRacers (LOPE). |

:: Anne Foley, Vet Tech and Office Assistant
Our newest addition to the Austin Equine Associates team, Anne Foley, joined us in April 2007 and has taken on dual roles! You'll not only meet Anne in the field as a technician but you'll often speak with her when she's assisting in the office. Anne, who has her degree in History from the University of Texas at Austin also enjoys impact kickboxing and yoga. She says though that, basically, when she's not at work she's at the barn preparing for her next career--chief groom to her one and only Eklektikos (Chami), her 6 year old Trakehner/Thoroughbred mare. However, Anne is seriously considering a career as an equine veterinarian and is enjoying learning everything she can during her time with Austin Equine Associates.
